<image:caption>This is a suite of branded materials for Tasomi Group. I created a logo, business card, letter head, and envelopes. This logo was a modern take off a logo for one of their sister companies. We were to create a design using their blues and an arrow or mountain like image. I abstracted arrow imagery and added color gradients to show movement and to modernize their color pallet. I also chose a more modern sans serif font.</image:caption>

I created the logo first then the rest of the campaign was based off of that. This consists of an accordion brochure, a postcard, a self mailer, and facebook, twitter, and LinkedIn ads. They had a lot of quotes they wanted featured so I created a style that highlighted them. Their company colors are a navy blue and dark green so I took those colors and created a new color pallet that use brighter blues and greens because they wanted a more eye catching style.</image:caption>

<image:caption>This is a speculative restaurant of the future. It only serves extinct flora and fauna grown in a lab. A portion of the proceeds go to saving endangered species. The experience begins with entering an app lottery system to get an invitation. If invited you will receive an invitation in the mail with coordinates and a keycard. The day of the dinner you must enter the coordinates into an app and follow the digital compass to the location of the dinner. Once there you use the keycard to enter a lab, pick up your lab id badge and us that to enter the next room full of animal models and plants you have never seen before. Then you enter the dining room that looks like a late 18th century explorers club. You can use AR on the menu cards to learn more about each of the 12 courses and the plant or animal you are eating. Once you leave the dinner your app is wiped. The design emulates catalog cards for different species and old animal and plant etchings. The script is hand written.</image:caption>

<image:caption>This was a 1 week workshop in which a group of MICA students in Baltimore, Willem de Kooning Academy students in the Netherlands, and St. Lucas students in Antwerp worked together. Our project was called “Wave of Meeting.” We created a handheld device and Zoom filter to measure attention levels in online video meetings. The grip of a person on to a device we created called the crop determined their level of attention in an online video call. We used a Circuit Playground encased in a 3D printed handheld device. We coded that to capture grip strength. We then linked that to code that and linked it to SnapCamera to make it sow up on an actual zoom meeting. A wave would cover the screen if grip strength slackened. A sun would show if the participants grip was tight the whole time.</image:caption>

<image:caption>During the quarantine I created a live Zoom gameshow for my classmates to play. The goal was to answer puzzles based on learning disability testing to discover which classmate the game was about. I divided them into two teams (team JCP and team Ellen). I created a gameshow setup and I gave each team money to buy clues. I created a shared google doc for each team where I posted the clues they bought. There was also a section on the google doc for each team to talk to their teammates and make guesses. I did this so each team would not have to speak and reveal their discoveries to the other team.</image:caption>

The project reflects the red rocks and the sunsets in the west through the color scheme. The cards are at different elevations because we went from 2000ft above sea level to 11,600ft above sea level during the trip. I hand drew the larger type and I drew all the images and icons.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Portfolio - Exhibition / 3D - Ride, The story of Boombadas</image:title>
<image:caption>This is a project based off my childhood. When I was young my cousins and I would pile into a 1970’s yellow van and take Boombada rides. These were rides through the middle of the Island I spent my summers on. On the ride my uncle would tell the story of the Boombadas, a fictional cannibalistic tribe that lived in the center of the island. On our final ride we hit a world war II army bunker and knocked the door off the van. This is a typographic paper cut sculpture depicting that experience. It was published in a book at MICA with the rest of the GD MFA class of 2021’s work.</image:caption>

The box uses hidden messaging. The patterns are created from stretched text that say things like “warning may cause illness or death”. They are a play on the many warning labels on drugs that sometimes outweigh the benefits. As you go further into the box the text gets more legible. By the time you get to the items inside the box you should know that this is bad for you because they are all poisonous items. I also created a lenticular to show the two sides of the product. Then they select one learning disability and hear a quote of struggle by someone with that learning disability. They then find out who that person is and that they are successful in their field. The interactive screen would end with the discovery of the gift that comes with having that learning disability. Then participants would follow the colored pathway to the simulation of what it feels like to have that learning disability or disorder. That is the part in the middle you can see here. Then they would follow the path to the wall where they would try one learning method commonly used by people with that disability. I surveyed a bunch of people with these learning disabilities and disorders to find out their learning methods and used those as inspiration. <image:caption>In the Reading Disorder simulation, the center of some words overlap with similar looking words. Participants must use context clues within the text to figure out which of the overlapping words is correct. People with reading disorders often have difficulty finding the right word especially if they look similar. For example, if a sentence read “The water is really calm” they might read it as “The water is really clam.” Then they would have to figure out what it is actually supposed to be.</image:caption>
